22:00 PM, Miggelenberg, The Netherlands, 21-11-23

Nightsky 21-11-23, 21:00 PM: Observing star Aldebaran in the Taurus constellation. Aldebaran is also known as "The Bulls Eye" as it is a Red giant star. In 2 million years time, the Pioneer 10, a spacecraft launched in 1972, will reach Aldebaran. Pioneer 10 was originally send to observe Jupiter. After it's mission was completed, the sonde continued it's travel to Aldebaran. The Pioneer 10 contains a golden plate with a discription of earth's location in the universe. Who knows if in 2 million years time, we will get mail from Aldebaran..

21:00 PM, Miggelenberg, The Netherlands, 20-11-23

With dropping temperatures, the nights get colder. With only 3 degrees there was a good visibility at 21:00 PM with low cloudiness. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my telescope, and observations had to be done with eyes only (see photos). Many constellations were visible such as Taurus, the Pleiades and the planet Jupiter.

"Vogeltje op tafel"

“Vogeltje op tafel”
A small drawing in my diary about a bird I saw this morning outside the window.

Dear Orion 26/02/20 20:00

Orion sighting above Lunsbergen, Drenthe, The Netherlands. Time: 26/02/20 20:00.
The weather was cold, around 2 degree celcius. The humidity was high. Because of this the stars appeared a bit blurry. Photo taken with f4, 15s and an ISO 1600.
